Visiting Dogtrace
The Czech brand Dogtrace is a leading manufacturer of GPS devices, electronic collars, and dog fences. We have long offered products from this brand on our e-shop, so we were thrilled when we got the chance to see how their products are made—directly at their headquarters in the town of Lanškroun.
How It All Started: Gordy the Dog as Inspiration
The story of Dogtrace didn’t start in a large factory, but with a dog—a Labrador named Gordy. He was the inspiration for the founders to create high-quality electronic training tools that would also be available on the Czech market. From this idea, the brand Dogtrace eventually emerged.
The very first products that Dogtrace launched were:
These three products laid the foundation for a product range that gradually expanded to include modern electronic training aids, GPS collars, and professional equipment for sporting, working, and family dogs.

Czech Precision Manufacturing as a Major Advantage
Dogtrace is exceptional in that it develops and manufactures directly in the Czech Republic. And it’s not just simple assembly—the production is divided into many carefully monitored steps, where each piece is tested and fine-tuned down to the last detail.
During our visit, we were able to see how training collars, GPS collars, and electronic fences are made. We were surprised by the extreme precision involved, requiring skilled hands, professional facilities, and high-quality control standards.
As a result, Dogtrace products are known for:
-
High durability
-
Long lifespan
-
Stable and reliable signal
-
Safe use for dogs and their owners
